It rained most of the time. I was, let’s just be honest, miserable. I hate bugs. I hope all bugs die in a fire. I hate rain. I hope all rain dies in a fire.
What I DO like…I do like S’mores. And I really, really liked watching how happy my kids were playing in the field, picking wild blackberries, finding salamanders, driving tractors, and generally having a fantastic time.
However I really do prefer room service and indoor plumbing.
I have lived my whole life in Michigan, but I want to move to West Virginia based on the lovely views taken in on a medical road-trip to take my daughter for surgery in Richmond, VA. I just loved driving through West Virginia and decided it’s on our “to move to list” when last child is either in or finished with college. Are we crazy? By the way, we live in the Detroit area, I’m not a yooper and not easily mesmerized by lush greenery.
You hate camping with bugs? You need some Repellem tablecloths and trash bags, my friend.
Yes, I am talking trash bags to Queen of Spain. Because I do not want her to be all itchy.
Seriously, these babies work. And they smell good. I would not tell a lie to the Queen of Spain. http://www.repellemblog.com/camping-with-ecosmart-repellem/
Use the link in the body of the post. The store link at the bottom hasn’t worked in while.
In spite of my making conversation about trash bags, I hope ALL my cool isn’t gone.
Seriously, I love this product. It works.
I’m going camping in CO next week with all three kids (no dh) and my bf + her kids. I know we’re going to be outnumbered 2 moms to 5 kids….not looking forward to the bugs, but I know the kids will love camping.
The kids will love it Lynn. But I bet you they would also love a hotel with a pool…..lol
The last time I went camping I was eaten ALIVE by mosquitoes. Seriously, there would be massive clouds just waiting to pounce the second you went outside the tent.
I really hate camping. It’s a good thing Hubs does too. đŸ˜› But even so, I have a feeling Jake will be camper extraordinaire when he grows up.
Beautiful scenery, Erin. I personally love camping as it will allow me to be close to nature like this and have all this privacy, all things which I cannot find in hotels.
However it depends on your circumstances and if you are well. Plumbing and bathrooms are great when you need them.
I hope you can have another holiday with comfort you enjoy.
Great blog you have here. I have a humor blog as well and I would like to exchange links with you. Let me know, either by email or through my site, if this is possible. Jason
I love camping…but I only go to places where there are bath houses. I won’t go without a shower or without a working toilet. Call me a priss or a snob or tell me that I’m not really camping, but those are my needs. I’ll swim in lakes and rivers, hike on nature trails, and cook my food over an open fire, but darn it I need running water! (Some a-holes might giggle at a WV native saying that, seeing how some people believe we use outhouses and don’t wear shoes.)
Enjoy that first blissful night cuddling with your own bedsheets.
laughing really hard b/c you were thinking about where to brush your teeth…um. you were camping. đŸ™‚ actually looks like a really sweet set up. hope you had fun..those outhouses used to scare me though..as a little girl. methinks urs probably braved it like her fearless (on so many fronts) momma.
Just came from the falling off the mountain post… but I have to say I really love the idea of a “play” tent for the kids. Seriously, writing that one down. Also, what a beautiful campsite!
