Girl Power

I’m sitting here with my son and daughter, watching two WOMEN debate on live television.

I am 35 years old and this is the first time I have watched ONLY women in a political debate.

I love that my daughter is seeing this on the tv at five, not 35.

  2. Love it too!
Going with Susan B. on this one….”The day will come when men will recognize woman as his peer, not only at the fireside, but in councils of the nation. Then, and not until then, will there be the perfect comradeship, the ideal union between the sexes that shall result in the highest development of the race. ” ~Susan B. Anthony

  3. Fantastic. Go, girls.

  4. So Hala is pulling for Carly?

  5. I hope they didn’t encourage stereotypes by acting catty and scratching each others eyes out, like I saw our two local Hebrew school principals do when the two synagogues tried to merge the schools a few years back.

There was a Washington Week episode way back in the days of Paul Duke when for the first time all the journalists at the table were women. He acknowledged this very briefly but I think the viewers really had more interest in the stories they were covering than in who was covering them. Over time, our political candidates have also gotten more diverse in their backgrounds so again the message means more than the messenger, as it should, with a few major exceptions.
