How Hillary Can Win Me Back

I saw it during the ABC/Facebook debate last night. That spark. I SAW IT.

When Edwards and Obama started hammering her tag-team style, she got ANGRY-that’s when the Hillary I used to love came back out to fight.

Of course, that Hillary is the one that tends to fire me up while turning others off. That’s the Hillary that gets the sexist and conservative voters calling her the b word and railing against having a crazy woman in power.

That fight I saw in her? It was real. Genuine. It was the kind of thing her campaign was trying to manufacture with those cackles on national television and giggles of a “softer side.” Why can’t they just admit “Hillary lite” isn’t nearly as exciting and commanding as “Hillary pissed and yelling” – don’t sell me a softer Hillary, sell me what I KNOW works and gets stuff done: Raging Ass Kicker Hillary.

I don’t care anymore if you hate her for it. You hated her anyway and you’ll hate her again. I don’t care if she’s so far into the establishment she is considered the “same old thing.”

Bring back the Hillary people love to hate instead of this Middle-of-The-Road-play-all-sides, rhetoric spewing android democrat and she’ll get me back. Then we can talk about experience AND history. Then we can talk about having the resume AND being the First Woman President.

She was right last night-a woman in the oval office would be huge. But no one is talking about it yet. No one is excited about it yet-why? She’s made us forget she could make history by becoming one of the many drones of politics. By becoming one of them. She used to be trail blazer, now she’s lost in the herd.

Show me that trail blazer again. Show me the woman who tried to push universal health care while not even a politician. Who, when I was still a teenager, had me reading up on drug makers and their lobby. Who had me proud and excited a strong and vocal woman was injecting herself into the national spotlight in a way no other First Lady has.

Let her loose.

Then all those women and young people the Hillary camp took for granted-all those WOMEN LIKE ME who have been waiting their ENTIRE LIVES for this just might consider making it happen.

Let her loose.

And hope it’s not too late.

  1. I’m voting for her Erin, whether we ever see that trailblazing pissed off Hillary again before November or not.

She’s damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t and I think she feels like she’s more damned if she gets mad, gets tough and gets real and that’s why we don’t get to see it very often.

Just like every woman in this country, if she acts up – she’s penalized, so she has to walk the line in order to keep from alienating men and women all over this freaking country.

That’s why I’m voting for her, she’s playing the game every single woman in this country has to play every single day. It just ticks me off that women don’t recognize that she’s having to do it or that women spend so much time faulting her for it. Women should understand where she’s coming from and the spot she’s trapped in. They should also recognize that if Hillary’s elected, she’ll be free to use that voice and that toughness – and that will help free us all, just a little bit more.

  2. I agree with you COMPLETELY!!!

Turn the woman loose and then try to tell me she’s the “same old same old.”

I respect and admire this woman when she is being true to herself and not trying to box herself in just to please others.

Come back to us Hil, we miss you.

  3. And just the right dash of snark with her comment about her feelings being “hurt!”

  4. Thank you for remembering her efforts towards health care and how they blew her up, not just shot her down. It was disgusting. She is and always will be a women to what..she is qualified, committed (which I don’t understand) you have to give up your life and mine means to much to me and my family..however, she is a winner. Has established respect in other countries and would represent us very well. And we have the Bill Clinton bonus. What great thing has Bush done for us..his whole time in office? Nada…
    Good luck Hillary..stay strong
    Dorothy from grammology
    remember to call gram

  5. I still think she’s a tad bit on the conservative side for my liking, but it’s good to see her smiling and upbeat again.

  6. That’s what I’m sayin’! When she announced that she finally found her voice, I wanted to puke. Lady, you lost your voice recently. In the 1990s, you had an awesome voice that said lots of very interesting things and expounded upon complicated ideas. Get that voice back!

  7. I used to believe that universal health care was the way to go. With 74 million uninsured voters out there, I was ready for that change. But then, I discovered that “the government” ALL politicians both Democrat and Republican have fucked up Social Security, and Medicare so badly — they’ve spent that money on wars, loans to other countries that can’t pay us back, and other enormous expenses — I can’t trust them enough to be responsible with universal health care, or socialized medicine. I thought Hillary was on the right track, but she’s not. There’s another way to get me to vote for her. I’ll sell my soul to the devil (and overlook her stand on abortion) if she’d take on privatized health care and provide more competition in the insurance industry. But she won’t because Hillary and the Democrats want Americans to depend on them. They want us to depend on the government and it should be that way. I really think she could do some good for this country, but there are some issues she is not able t

  8. I was saying that some of the issues she supports are not sitting right with me.

  9. I was also saying it SHOULD NOT BE that we depend on the government. Americans need more control in how they want the government to work. Give some of the power back to the people for goodness sakes.

  10. Sorry to hijack your comments, Erin, but Dana – don’t you know that just like Dorothy, you’ve had the power all along? The power isn’t any politicians to give back to you, it’s yours to grant, withhold and take back.

Carry on with the awesomeness, Queen.

  11. In the unlikely event she gets elected, you gals won’t even need men anymore. It shouldn’t be long after that anyway.
Something suggests very strongly to me that you still will have something to complain about.

If you are more interested in prolonging our country’s freedom, go to

Hillary isn’t interested in helping anyone but Hillary. Hopefully we will never see what I’m talking about.

  12. Queen of Spain says:

and hopefully we’ll never see the racist homophobe Ron Paul in office.

Politicians will always give us something to complain about-I can’t imagine us “gals” (patronizing anyone?) will bitch any more or less than we will at any other president. I also can’t imagine a world without males…but if you’re volunteering to disappear…feel free.
